Проблемка с url - SEF (ЧПУ)

Не знал куда написать но мне кажется здесь больше подойдет.

Проблема такая: если после "http://www.site.ru/" написать любые символы например "http://www.site.ru/jlnmjntkjht/" - что важно со слешем в конце  - то ссылка остается тажа но открывается главная страница но без загрузок картинок.

В чем причина или как сделать что бы полностью перебрасывало на главную.

нюансы:

Раньше стоял Artio JoomSEF но из за нагрузки отрубил и удалил.
стоит редирект 404 на главную через .htaccess

вроде все написал....если необходимо какая та доп. информация - скажите

редирект убрал все равно так? вот что осталось:
