В общем тот факт что в Joomla 1.5(20) используется редактор версии 3.2.6, который не обновлялся уже больше года (2009-08-19), когда на дворе уже v 3.3.9.2 (2010-09-29) меня не очень порадовал.

Как можно заметить, пропали устаревшие ненужные плагины, и добавились новые, самые полезные из которых(имхо) - autoresize и autosave. Так же интересен плагин wordcount.
autoresize при редактировании текста автоматически подстраивает высоту редактора так чтоб в нем вмещался весь текст без прокрутки.
autosave сохраняет текст каждые 30 секунд на вашем компьютере(используя html5 localstorage), что конечно же иногда здорово спасает.
wordcount просто показывает текущее число слов в нижнем углу редактора.
Процесс обновления такой:
1) идем на сайт
tinymce и качаем там a) Main package - сам редактор и b) Language packs - языковые пакеты.
2) закидываем содержимое папки
jscripts из первого архива в папку
\plugins\editors\tinymce\jscripts Joomla.
Заливаем содержимое архива с языками в
\plugins\editors\tinymce\jscripts\tiny_mce3) так как некоторые плагины устарели, их
ОБЯЗАТЕЛЬНО нужно отключить, иначе редактор вобще не появится. Для этого идем в параметры плагина tinyMCE(менеджер плагинов) и в
Дополнительные параметры отключаем a) Blockquote(цитата) и b)Совместимость с Safari
в
Дополнительные плагины прописываем
advlist,autoresize,autosave,wordcountв
Дополнительные кнопки -
restoredraft,blockquote (чтобы появилась кнопка восстановления текста и кнопка blockquote)
