Я вот тоже задался этим вопросом.
пока только получилось жестко назначить колличество товаров в постраничном просмотре.
Но осталась проблема: при заходе в категорию показывает непонятное колличество товаров что явно больше нужного.
Правил файл administrator/components/com_virtuemart/classes/pageNavigation.class.php
Вот пример моего файла может кто подскажет что мне поменять чтобы жестко все привязать к цифре 8:
