Highlights of new version:
I replaced a lot of the tables with divs, lists, spans, etc - all having CSS selectors so that anyone can have full control over the style of Missus. Emphasis of this modification was on appearance and user interface.
Included one template, along with a rudimentary templating system so you can build your own.
Added the ability for Admins to manage messaging groups and to share those groups with registered users.
Fireboard and CB integration.

In addition:
Choose single and multiple user recipients or single and multiple group recipients.
Personal user configuration including signature, avatar display on messages, and notification options.
Sender can receive acknowledgment of receipt by a symbol next to recipient's name in sentbox.
Users can attach files to messages. Number of attachments per message, allowed extensions, and max file sizes are set by admin.
BBcode and Emoticons on compose with ability for admin to configure.
Many display options set by admin in the backend including date format.
Allowance of broadcast/system messages (sent to all users) - permission set by admin.
Notification emails upon new PM. Admin can set if email notifications contain just a notice, includes subject/sender/date, or the complete message.
Admin can purge messages and attachments in the backend, meaning delete all messages and attachments from the database that have been deleted by all of the recipients and the sender.
